  i have a scan of page 3 and page 23. don't know how to post them, however.

  page 3 is an introduction to the new format.

  study articles will be shorter, giving the audience more time to comment and more time to look up cited scriptures.

  i found this original letter in my families archives.

  don't know why the second page is discolored but it's original.. it's interesting the mention of the toga on the second page, and that they called the magazine "the tower".

  It's interesting that they STILL sign their letters today with that same script signature. When did that start, and who wrote it?

  i originally posted this topic under "deuteronomy 24:16 vs 2 samuel 12:14" (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/142118/1.ashx).

  it was suggested i retitle and repost it as my title did not really convey what the topic was about, so here it is again.. i was looking at who incited david to take the census, satan or jahooba (2 sam 24:1 vs 1 chron 21:1).

  anyway, i was searching the wt 2006 cd and i came across this qfr that has nothing to do with what i was looking for, but i could not believe what i was reading.

  Besides, as an uncircumcised, unnamed infant it had not as yet developed any personality pattern or consciousness so as to appreciate life.

  STUPID REASONING!! Think about it: are they suggesting that once you name a child, or cut of it's foreskin, it suddenly "gains appreciation of life" and a "personality pattern" and now it would be wrong to kill it? Insanity.

  AGuest: You base your knowledge and understanding of God on "the Bible." Who commissioned "the Bible?" God? Certainly not! Why is it that you do not know this, yet you use it to stand in witness against Him? Were you there? Did you see what occurred? If someone were to write something about you, should I believe just because YOU say it is true?

  You have brought on your accusations; I challenge them, and I bring to YOU the one witness who WAS there... who saw EVERYTHING... from "the founding of the world," until now. THAT One said that HE came "to bear witness to the TRUTH," and used his own life to do so. Yet, not one did he ever condemn; not one did he ever bring pain or punishment upon. He DID, however, rebuke the scribes for their FALSE writings ("Woe, to you... scribes!"). Yet, you based your knowledge on the writings of the scribes. How are you in the right?

  Talk about circular reasoning! Sheesh!

  First you tell us that we can't use the Bible as a witness against God, because it wasn't written by him, then you profess that you believe in Christ and QUOTE THE BIBLE as your source.

  I guess that's the reasoning skills that too many years in the Borg gets us!!

  it would make sense to me that theyre dubsa as this would be saving the societya money.

  i get a news letter called tidbits.

  in it talks about things that are going on involving the jws, morman's and other groups.

  any ways i was reading this article about how the wt is called a "pedophile paradies".

  Yes, the two-witness rule is disgusting in the way it facilitates child molestation. Even in the scriptures, the scenarios where two-witnesses were called for in the OT didn't involve cases such as this.

  Wouldn't Jehovah be one of the "witnesses" of the abuse? Perhaps the elders should be throwing the Urim and the Thummim or some dice (after praying of course), to see which way Jehovah directs, since he sees all. (RIGgggggghhhhhhtt.......)

  Good for her!! There's so many similarities between fundamental Mormonism (and even conventional Mormanism) and JW's it's spooky.

  I'm proud of this girl for getting "out". She had a lot to leave behind and lose, but more to gain. I'm glad she could see that. Many can't.

  i remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!

  or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.

  i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

  it was the halloween week and ppl had their houses decked out.

  i turned into a dark road that has a house just every so often.

  i have been inactive now for over a half a year, and i am just now realizing that there was not one thing i enjoyed about being a witness.

  i enjoyed my friends and association with witnesses, and still do.

  but i didn't enjoy one thing that we were supposed to do, not one.
